A Look Back at Jordan Brand Athlete Derek Anderson

Former NBA player, Derek Anderson was drafted in 1997 by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the 13th overall pick out of the University of Kentucky. Anderson was touted as an ideal shooting guard with his ability to shoot from the perimeter, handle the ball and finish at the rim. He also had championship pedigree winning the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship in 1996 as part of a team that featured nine future NBA players under their coach Rick Pitino.

While playing for the San Antonio Spurs in the 2000-2001 season, Derek Anderson was thought to be the future of their backcourt playing alongside Antonio Daniels as he posted career high number in points, assists and rebounds. However, after playing all 82 games in the regular season, Anderson suffered an injury in the playoffs which eventually lead to him being traded in the offseason to the Portland Trailblazers where he spent the next four years and slowly became a NBA journeyman afterwards.

While Anderson may not have had the most successful NBA career due to injuries, he was laced by Jordan Brand with some of the most popular player edition shoes. Check out the small gallery below of what Derek Anderson wore on court during his time in the NBA.
