Nike Roshe Run “Split” Pack – Summer 2013

The Nike Rosherun: the ever-changing, evolving, adaptive canvas brought to you by the simplistic zen inspiration from the mind of Dylan Raasch – the designer behind the Roshe. Thus far Nike has pushed the envelope – blending color blocking, material choices, and functionality on the Nike creation. One of those creations came in the form of a “Split Pack.” The Split – aptly named for its divisive color arrangement, literally splitting the upper material construction into two colors onto each medial half of the sneaker – originally took its place among the Roshe ranks earlier this year. Nike is at it once again with the Split concept although more colorways have been introduced and also with a small tweak to the overall design.

The signature Rosherun aesthetics and comfort are of course represented in this, dare I say – Retro, of similar style and color choices. The Split pack of the summer seems to be dominated by a majority dark-toned based foundation – appearing on the Swoosh and overtaking the entire midsole/outsole piece. There is one pair however that seems to reflect the light tones of summer – the Grey/Gamma Green colorway. It’s almost as if Nike is capturing the transition of the summer into the fall months with this release. The minor change in the design, separating this Split pack from the earlier pairs of 2013 are the striped components of this Roshe silhouette. Striped pull tabs corresponding to the medial accent tone sees its own place on each comfort based model.

The three darker themed tones ares great color combinations and incorporate some of Nike Sportswear’s recent hot color choices. Overall there is a Grey/Gamma Green colorway, an Armory Navy/ Yellow colorway followed by Black/ Atomic Red and a NewsPrint/ Hero Blue scheme. The NewsPrint theme looks to be the only pair with a varying color selection of the pull tab striping.

The infamous Rosherun pricing is also in effect. Don’t expect to pay more than $70 retail for these tonal splits which are available now.
