Gary Warnett x Reebok Classic Leather

Is there anybody that hasn’t collaborated with Reebok this year? The string of high quality team ups have been as numerous as they’ve been impressive. As the Classic Leather celebrates it’s 30th anniversary year members of the select group of certified network retailers have all taken a turn at putting their touch on one of Reebok’s premier running shoes. Not to be left out of the party Gary Warnett has teased another entry into the line of joint efforts.

Speculation of the project being a collab between Reebok and British based Crooked Tongues is understandable due to Warnett’s ties with CT, but incorrect (though there will be a Crooked Tongues x Reebok collab this year). the teaser shot bears a passing resemblance to the Reebok and Hanon effort’s color palette, which was described by Warnett as a “weird” coincidence.

The design influence for this particular project was a non alcoholic pub shoe, and the palette takes its color scheme from the packaging of Supermalt, a well known non alcoholic malt based beverage. Further design features include a creamy leather base, embroidered arrows on canvas, multi colored branding, and an icy translucent outsole.

There’s no word on a release as of yet but stay tuned to MidwestSole for further updates on this exciting collaboration, and the future Crooked Tongues x Reebok and Le Coq Sportiff collaborations due later in the year. And don’t forget to follow Gary Warnett on Twitter.
