Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG – Black/Red

Nico, here at MWS brought you the first murmurs of the Banned colorway back in March – “Possible return in 2013: Jordan 1 OG ‘Black/Red’.” Designer Hiroshi Fujiwara posted a photo via his Instagram feed that only seems to fuel the rumor fire that the next on the Retro 1 OG hit list is the Black/Red color scheme.

Touted for its color scheme which was “banned” (or more accurately restricted) by David Stern and the NBA in 1985 due to its unconventional color palette and violated the NBA uniform policy. This sample photo shows THE original black and red Air Jordan 1 in all of its “Jumpman-less” glory. The retro of the “Banned” 1’s in 2011 also featured premium leather materials, buttery enough to make even the shoemakers of Italy jealous.

This sample photo seems to reflect quality of a different kind but nonetheless anticipated for its close resemblance to the pair donned by MJ himself. We can speculate as to when these might hit shelves but stay tuned for more release details as more concrete information becomes available.
