Nike SB – Spring 2014 Preview (Dunk Lows x Koston 2)

The Spring 2014 collection has been floating around the web for some time now. Based on the available images, get your closets, wallets, and feet ready for one great ride.

There’s quite a few eye grabbers in the bunch but here are a few of the Dunk Lows and a Koston 2 model that snagged my eye. I’m a sucker for SB Dunk Lows honestly.

The Koston 2 gets a Tiffany treatment. I know I don’t have to even mention it but Nike SB applied this theme to a Dunk Low model at the hands of Nick Diamond’s design back in 2005. We all saw the hysteria and cult classic that was birthed from the ashes of all of our hopes to secure a pair. The Koston 2 didn’t get the complete treatment but the “Robin Egg Blue” upper covered in hopefully suede but quite possibly nubuck, should be enough to rustle some nostalgia out of us come release time.

With the majority of the Fall 2013 line in the books, it’s clear that the tangerine – green equation is a must for Nike’s design team. Who can blame them? This sample shows base white leather underlay topped off with a faux crocodile printed trim in green. Speaking of tangerine, the Swoosh texture closely resembles that of a citrus family fruit skin: tumbled and textured. The outsole and inner lining finish off this one-two simple color ensemble.

This is one of two that stole my attention away from the rest of the collection. A python print underlay rests underneath a black suede overlay, black leather Swoosh and red outsole. The hint at a possible QS model is the notorious heel branding.

The faux black snakeskin only helps fuel the rumors of this being some sort of Nike SB version of a snake pack. The golden python eye on the back is a nice touch to aid the over all theme.

The other half of the tandem swings in to complete the duo in an all red faux python underlay and red suede overlay with a contrasting teal Swoosh. I’m sure we’ll hear more about these soon so stay tuned in for updates to follow.
