Kobe 9 to be a Mid?

kobe 9
The KD VI has recently hit shelves and see’s a return to a low top cut after the faltering sales of the KD V’s mid top silhouette. The photo above (via the Nike Zoom Kobe Facebook page) suggests that the 9th edition in Kobe Bryant’s signature line will do the opposite and abandon the low profile, soccer boot like look in favor of higher cut.

The Kobe 8 system has enjoyed a strong run, and the low profile shoes have been the black mamba’s weapon of choice since his 4th Nike model. Abandoning the shape that has proved a hit with sneaker fans around the world could be a bold move if true. Lending further credence to the suggestion of the change of shape is the image below via @Nino_LightBrown of probable Kobe 9 make ups including a “Year of the horse” edition for 2014.

How would you feel about a return to a Mid or High cut for the Kobe line? Sound off in the comments below, and stick with MidwestSole for further updates.
