Adidas Springblade

Back in February Adidas had a very high profile press conference to announce their Boost technology, the latest advancement in cushioning for running shoes. Also seen briefly at this press conference was another, much more outlandish, system for the next age of runners. Called the Springblade, Adidas say the new tech was inspired by the mechanics of how a gazelle runs, also saying it is, “the first running shoe with individually tuned blades engineered to help propel runners forward with one of the most effective energy returns in the industry.” The idea is that each blade compresses under the pressure the wearer exerts and uses that energy to propel you forward with and give a more efficient push off.

Available from August 1st and retailing at $180, you can pick these up from retailers such as Footlocker, Eastbay, and of course

Aparently RG3 has already tried them out, let us know what you think of this latest advancement in running tech.
