SPoT x Lance Mountain 20 Year Dunk Low

This year marks the 20th anniversary for the Skate Park of Tampa, arguably the best known skate park in all of Skateboarding. SPoT is home to the Tampa Am and Pro, respectively two of skateboarding’s  most respected contests. This year Nike Sb is the main sponsor for the Tampa Pro, so it is only fitting that Nike would approach SPoT for a collaboration shoe to commemorate the park’s 20 year anniversary.

The shoe was designed by Nike Sb pro Lance Mountain; the shoe itself was presented as an idea by Lance and features the “doughboy” character which he designed for the Tampa Pro in 2012. The shoe is covered in a black nubuck with an allover doughboy print. The print is some kind of pseudo 3M material, which gives it a subtle look from afar, but still, looks good up close. The heel tab and lining are in a light blue which is being referred to as both “Lance Mountain blue” and also “untiffany” blue. The blue gives the shoe a little extra flair, which is accented by the metallic silver swoosh. All of this detail rests on a subtle white midsole and black outsole. As if the shoe wasn’t cool enough alone, it also comes with a special blue box with the doughboy Tampa logo from last year’s Tampa Pro, a wooden hang tag with a SPoT 20 year anniversary engraving, and a special mini Mexican blanket meant to commemorate the tapestry which hangs over the entrance of the park.

The SPoT x Lance Mountain Dunk will be released this Saturday March 2, but will be limited to in store purchase only. If you are in the area I highly recommend picking up a pair, as they will only be in store while supplies last. The sneaker drops at noon, so show up early to pick up your piece of SPoT history.
